THE AREA

Kinlochewe is the perfect base for anyone wishing to tour the North-West Highlands. The famous Inverewe Gardens are 35 miles away; the Isle of Skye is 50 miles away; the ferry and fishing port of Ullapool is 58 miles away.

The Torridon area is well-known and loved for its outstanding beauty and grandeur by hill walkers, mountaineers, photographers, bird-watchers, those seeking the outdoor life, or those wanting a quiet place to get away from it all. The photograph to the right was taken just a few miles from Kinlochewe, and shows the mighty Slioch towering over beautiful Loch Maree. Kinlochewe stands at the upper end of Glen Torridon, containing lovely Lochs Clair & Coulin, and culminating in the world-famous Loch Torridon. Glen Torridon winds beneath those three giants of the North-West: Beinn Eighe (3313 ft - 1010 m); Liathach (3456 ft - 1053 m), and Beinn Alligin (3232 ft - 985 m).
